Now THAT is a arse kicking. 6 members FFS. Bob Katters monster raving loony party could have more seats. I didn't think Bligh was that hated.

thought i'd add, with 6 seats labor doesn't have enough seats to actually form a party.

now that's funny stuff.

At the polling booth where I scrutineered this evening at the counting of the votes there was a total of 1090 votes counted.

The result was:-

Liberal National Party......................................539

Labor...........................................................250

Katter's Australia Party....................................181

Informal........................................................ 29

The Rest..................................................the rest.

That is just the primary count. Forget about 2 party preferred.

So if you analyse that and count half of the Labor vote as being the donkey vote (ie Well the Labor party is the worker's party...................isn't it??????????? and the welfare vote.), the true result is:-

Liberal National Party.......................................539

Katter's Australia Party.....................................181

Labor.............................................................125

Also consider that Katter's Australia Party's philosophical grass roots are National the true result is:-

Conservatives................................................720

Labor............................................................125

So look out Gillard, Swang, Wrong, Gawett, Cwombet and the rest of your looney left unionist cronies, you are the next for the chopping block.

It's hard looking at state politics.....from another state. My impression of bligh was pretty much formed from her dealings during the disasters. I thought she rocked. But then I've heard folks from other state make the same sort of comments about Brumby here in Victoria. And that government was treated very harshly by the voters in the end. Maybe it's the style of politics at the moment...big big swings.

Bligh was a good Premier and was beaten by Newman
who was'nt even in the parliament.
Where does this leave Jooliar, she is a bad, lying, spiv,
happily doing President Brown's bidding over whatever
he want's, to stay in power.
If the swing is the same in the federal election, there
will be no LABOUR (learn to spell morons) in the lower
house at all.
Maybe there is a god after all

LABOR is the correct spelling when referring to the Labor Party in Australia.

It is the American spelling of the word and was adopted by the movement because it's formation was assisted greatly by a number of Americans who were in Australia at the time.

Labor had great beginnings in Australia and was truly the "peoples movement".

Unfortunately "people power" has been seen as a threat to the status quo or general order of things by the imperialists and others and so has been infiltrated by their agents who have turned it into a sham.

True Labor is a friend of even the farmer and small business people as well as the wage earner.

The bunch of goons in Canberra who call themselves Labor are the real reptilian shape shifters who care not one whit for the average worker.

Have a go at that then loggie.

Probably the floods last year was the final nail in the coffin. The lack of compentance of the flood mitigation and the clear attempts to cover up what happened reflected really badly on Bligh.

What will Newman do? Will he try to bring Queensland back to the good old days of cheap petrol and cheap rego on cars? I lived up in Queensland in the late 90s and remember buying petrol for about 50 cents a litre. At the same time it was about 80 cents a litre in NSW.

There is a fair chance Newman will try and jack up the mining royalities to earn more money. Its something the ALP can't do as they will be criticised for it but the other side can get away with it.

If you are betting on a horse race, you bet on the horse you think is going to win so for me it was LNP. However I strongly agree with the issues Katter's Australia Party was campaigning on and I met and made friends with their Bundaberg candidate who was manning the same polling booth as I yesterday.

The two electorates here, Bundaberg (about the city boundaries with 50,000 people) and Burnett (about a 100 klm radius and 50,000 people) had two very good LNP candidates one of whom was incumbent.

The electorates are not large in numbers, the main industries are rural and there is a fairly high welfare component in both.

So to answer your question:-And how much of that vote do you reckon is Federal

I think a fair bit considering our sitting federal member is Paul Neville LNP who won by a convincing margin at the last federal elections.

I was thinking of starting a new thread called "Cisco's Sunday Political Comment Corner". Do you think that would be a good idea???

give me a break, show me a labor government that's actually any good, the federal governemnt has trashed this country and so have the state governemnts.

the reason labor was ditched is bcause they wrecked the place.

Link below to The Courier Mail voting tally page.

Of the seven seats Labor might win, three are the mining and industrial centres of Gladstone, Mackay and Rockhampton.

The rest are high welfare areas.

The only one with a clear and convincing lead is Gladstone where possibly one third to a half of the population are imported construction workers who would not be voting in that electorate.

Also of interest is the high scoring of KAP across the board.

Not just Qld here in NSW we recently gave the boot to labor in a similiar manner after they too had been in power too long.

Maybe "the public" has woken up to labors welfare mentality and want someone to run the governments with a bit more business acumen.

You buggers in Queensland are in for a torrid time now. You will squealing all the way to the next election, as there isn't a credible opposition left. The old habits of that slick mob left over by Joe will surface and you guys will be skinned alive
To form a good government for all, there needs to be a good spattering of the other side, to keep the bastards honest so to speak. YOU NEED BALANCE!!
At least in Federal, that boofhead mob cant get away with too much as the mad monk is on to them like seagull onto a chip if the boofs make a dud turn
Oh and I couldn't give a toss who is in, they are all the same, treat average voter like crap and do not display good credence of good government in any state or federal.

...and before that Labor gave the boot to the other mob !!

It's all cyclical and once the LNP have had their turn at it they will get the boot also.

I'm surprised it took so long for the LNP etc to get their act together though and get a win.

It's the natural order of politics.........
