Decided to watch the doco on Netflix. Very enjoyed the watch. Rush was a total egomaniac and narcissist it seems. I'd never really gotten into the details Of it all but wow, red flags everywhere and the guy just continued to pursue it. Fail after fail.
I couldn't fathom being that far deep and then hearing the carbon 'pings' and snaps as it started to break.
Never ceases to amaze me that people will pay large sums of money for the chance to take your turn to peer out of a small window at part of a wreck in the dimly lit darkness. All with the added risk of death should things go wrong.
Haha yeah that is true. Just crazy how so many of the test subs were failing well before 4000m and they still pressed on
