Geez Havn't heard of Imesh in ages lol...

The good/new songs are becoming harder and harder to find for free these days... More people use and pay for music with ITunes and thus never open their P2P software... Meaning you can't get their songs...

DONT :) use torrents like bit torrent or utorrent to download cd's
for websites like piratebay. I could only imagine that they are really fast easy to use for things like music and movies. Dont do it it hurts those poor artists and there super rich corporations attached.

unfortunately because of the greed and other reasons, the industry can't come up with an ideal global solution for music... there are some file/music sharing sites out there, but they all SUCK because of the poor quality, lack of good music, and viruses... then there are commercial sites like iTunes, Napster etc where you can pay for music, but they also don't have lots of music that one would seek (particularly specialized generes and rare stuff that the average public doesn't listen to). The best thing so far that the internet has seen is the VIP type torrent based sites for file sharring (one such "Oink" was shut down by Interpol last year, but few more came out). You can only join these by direct invite from a friend. They have very strict rules, i.e. you can only upload good quality music, and you have to share too, and on these sites you can find just about everything that exists, including less popular generes of music. The only thing is you still have the legal risk factor. If the music industry was any smart, they would have come up with a universal website where one can preview music and buy for reasonable price (i.e. 50 cents per song for example)... iTunes is the cosest thing so far, but they still lack heaps of music and artists and they need to lower the price too...

like the other day i wanted to buy an album... iTunes didn't have it, then i tried Amazon and another american commercial site, and they did have the album, but the freaking idiots don't let you buy outside the states... like WTF!?? they are complaining about the piracy, and then have this f.king rules where they don't want to sell and make money? So eventually i found the album on a file sharing site...

Hang on, isn't this the kite surfing forum?

Whatever program you use, check the files with anti-virus before playing them. Hackers are getting smart these days and imbedding trojans in MP3 files.

If you want to save yourself all the trouble of actually finding what you want, want decent quality, want to browse, AND you want to stay legal (I guess).

www.gomusic.ru

About $2/album. The artists actually do get their royalties from this site, just in Rubles.

Also try

www.mp3sparks.com

They used to be allOfMp3 before they got shutdown/changed names.
allOfMP3 was actually better in every way than iTunes, and not just the price. Try them out, I've had some issues with my account when they moved and just use goMusic now, because I'm lazy.

Just what is with that? I have had this happen to me so many times.

Sometimes I am on the company's site which says "Yes, we ship internationally". They ship to Canada. That's it! I've emailed them "Please just add AUSTRALIA to the bottom of the address, for god's sake!!!". No reply.

It's back?

www.alltunes.com/

Only just came across this. Looks like allofmp3/allTunes is back.

Overview in pictures here:
www.alltunes.com/screenshots.shtml

Instructions/discussions are here:
www.buybrands.com/forsale/bestvpn.me/?utm_source=bestvpn.me&utm_medium=redirect&utm_content=/

Is it legal? I don't know. Is buying a CD (or any product for that matter) in another country and then bringing it back to Australia legal? I'd say yes.

Dunno about GST.
