I lived in Spain for 7 years 1990-1997 (Valencia, Barcelona, Ibiza)... it never snowed below 2000m... I went through every winter riding a motorcycle without gloves, hands would sometimes get cold.
Frost was a rare event...
FARKING snow in Mallorca, far out! Not really that strange, almost every year it snows in Mallorca, only not by the sea... Here in the NW, it snows by the sea but only every 4-5 years, and snow lasts a few hours before melting.
As I said before, this storm was the worst since 1956, so it's happened before.
Climate is changing, as always, human influence locally significant, not so sure about globally...
