We can't get anything working properly on earth, why should we believe we can get it done on Mars?

Now we could project and export all out disasters to other worlds.
I hate to see repeat of colonization with all that same history we had here already. Maybe really we should wait a century or two and try solve our problems here...
Suppose that indeed we build self sufficient, sustainable colony there 10,000 strong.
Beside technical issues like food, water and energy do we have the slightest idea how that colony should be organized and structured ?
-political system ?
-payment and renumeration
-law
-religion
-marriage or free love
and much more
We could build Utopian new world from scratch or we could just apply the worst rules that doesn't work even here on Earth.
We could also assume that colony MUST obey all request from Earth which just reminds Crown and Kingdom absolute power.
Obviously Earth will very happy do send nuke instead of food at first sign of disobedience.

At least on Mars there are no other species for us to treat like sh!t

I hope that this time with all this social media etc will be quite difficult for NASA to fake Mars landing.
Even if task could be easier since there is bigger gravity that Moon and atmosphere to effect dropping dust.
Even scenery could be taken straight from our iron ore mines with excellent red background and not many other futures.
They could already claim credit for building roads on Mars for further development
and get this way extra funds.
