Jumping stilts, Bocks - Some of you must have tried them.
They look like fun if a little showy. A good winter exercise perhaps.
What's the go with them?

looks like fun. Didn't an Asian police force somewhere employ these things for a while?
could you outrun a cheetah??

It looks like fun and having lower impact on the body than jogging.

Perhaps these stilts evolved out of artificial limbs for leg amputees competing in running events in the para olympics? Wasn't there a para olympian with two artificial legs who wants to compete in the olympics but isn't allowed to?

That conjures up some comical images. "Pull over driver" flashing light on head while leaping over oncoming traffic. Or saving moggies from trees. Or not quite managing to duck through doorways in hot pursuit :)

The number 20mph seems to be widely quoted. That's not unlike a bicycle.

Yes. They work on the same principle except the ones for amputees are not nearly as as springy.
The more springy they are then the greater advantage you would have over the other competitors.
These actually look better because the rotational force of the leaf spring is not transmitted to your leg because of the clever hinge mechanisms.

They look like great fun but I'm sure i would break a leg.
