Its a wikid book. Won lots of awards a couple of years ago i think. Was big in India, which is how i got recommended to read it. Havent seen the film yet though it is one to see this year.
Basically the story is about two boys, one of whom is a servants son and their friendship/relationship as Afghanistan gets ravaged with warie The servants son stays whilst the other lad leaves. Its pretty full on....or at least the book was.
Khalid has also written another book that was released last year called A Thousand splendid Suns. Which is another glorious tale. Khalid is an incredible story teller.
