He looked very comfortable in last night's race. Dominated even with fastest lap after fastest lap before he cruised home.

I might even start watching F1 again.

Up until this season, I believed Webber was just good enough to be a nuisance and keep him in the game. He is on song now Hope he can maintain the hunger.
Something happened behind the scenes three races back. He had a dud raceI think he switched on right then to get to the top and bloody stay there.
He isn’t as close to Vetal as he was in regards to close teammates, evident when he completes a race. No walking over to team mate and swapping war stories on the finish grid as he did last season and early this season.
His mental toughness has held him strong

I think he is doing awesome - was a pity we couldn't see him get a placing over here at Albert Park.

Great to see him getting some good support from the AUS public now too.

Go Webber!

He has always been a briliant driver, qualifiing in th top ten even in ****e cars. It's been either poor team decisions or the car holding him back. His starts were a bit icy and usually dropped a spot but is now starting to nail it. Not doing to bad considering they have slow engines .

^ You'd have to admit that for years whenever he qualified well he'd crash on the first corner. You could bet on it.

Alternately his car would fail.

...Like Le Mans. Sheesh, he has had more bad luck with cars than himself, I suppose.

Still, that was pretty cool:

Personally I think the turning point was Malaysia (I think) this year when he out qualified Vettel. Webber got an ok race start but not as good as Vettel (from 2nd or 3rd on grid). Webber moved over slightly but left the door fairly open, naively not expecting his team mate to dive bomb down the inside...which is exactly what he did. Vettel went on to win that race but something in Webber's head clicked along the lines of "going to be like that is it". In the two races since where RBR have been one and two in qual he has been much more aggressive in blocking Vettel, as he should be, and he's won the last two races because of it.

At the end of last season Vettel was starting to get a bit of Hamilton esq arrogance when winning and it continued into this season when he won early. Now, as I expected, he looks like a kid who has had his lolly pop stolen, total withdrawn look of boredom at the press conferences and I imagine he and Webber's relationship is somewhat less friendly. I think if Webber does beats him in a few more races he can mentally break the kid and hopefully go on to win the championship!

He has always been, in my opinion, in the top 3 drivers on the grid in terms of 1 lap speed but has always lacked race consistency and has been let down by equipment a lot for whatever reason. He now seems to have the consistency under control and he has utterly dominated the last two races. Hopefully Webber 2010 WDC, he'd be a deserving champion I reckon and imagine the radio chat if that ever happened...it would be hilariously Australian like when he won his first race.

I've always thought Webber is a great driver, just the worlds most unlucky man. It seemed he either always got crashed into, or his car broke down, over the last years.
At the end of last season I said I think he would win it this year. He's doing a good job of it, hopefully he keeps it up!

totally, highlighted best by his wet weather domination. in the wet all things are equalled.

they had a poll (i think last season) on one hd gp show whether viewers thought webber could be no world champ.

p,.s, did anyone see lewis get booked in oz for doing burnouts in melbourne in a mercedes.

he's been charged with hooning offences. that's gold!

from memory 70% said yes.

we're not on the bandwagon. if we suddenly said the reds were good after a couple of wins that would be a bandwagon.

Whoops, I seem to have a stuttering problem It's those damn I phones, the screens to small.

Any way, what a hat trick for pole
Should be a good race tomorrow but with Seb in his draft on the grid and Lewis beside them in a quicker straight line car it will be a nervous run to the first corner, fingers crossed for Webber. Glad his getting better at blocking.

The implications of Webber's success this season is that all the drivers would be at a similar skill level and it's the reliability and performance of the car and the team orders that dictates who wins.

Not sure Vettel is the second fiddle driver, they went in to this race even on points.

In terms of teams working together, either Red Bull should have chosen one of their drivers to back for the championship, and the other driver does play second fiddle, or they should allow the faster car to win races. In this case Vettel was considerably faster then Webber (Webber had already been told to put the car into a 'fuel saving' mode, Vettel had not), and was put in a position where to avoid being overtaken by Hamilton, he had to make a risky move on his slower team mate.

Nar, cant agree . He may have been faster, but no overtaking move warrants a move like Vettel executed.
Vettel needs to stand up as a highly qualified F1 driver and admit, he just plane stuffed up. No ifs or buts about it, he made the wrong move at the wrong time, and pulling moves like that in such a high level sport at speed, is reserved for juniors in go-carts.
Reminds me a bit like Shoemaker and the way he took out Mansel who was also a threat to his championship
Vettel is lucky he hasn't be suspended by F1

I think even if Webber let Vettel through he could have got him back within a few laps when Mark would have been in the tow of Seb. All considered, It didn't turn out to bad in the end, Seb crashed out from his own error, Alonso dropped off and if JB held the pass he would have been even with Webber on points. Do you really think the Maclarens where low on fuel a lap after their joust with each other or the team lying so they don't take each other out?
Vettel is a very talented driver but needs a team mate like Rubens to back him up as he did for MS. This season is turning into a real drama in the RB camp.

vetel had the inside line and webber gave him room to overtake up the inside. if V held his line he had the lead. he obviously had a brain melt down.

cracker season so far.
