I think the HD GoPro is the best for the price, I'm a two finger typer so here's some links...

www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=58661 Have a look at the videos posted by Reflex Films.
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=60530 My first play with the HD GoPro cam, I think it's very clear, I also converted and made a DVD with that file to see how it looked on TV. Awesome on my 42" Panasonic Plasma, it's just the normal HD TV. Impressive as DVD is lower resolution

Cheers Bob.

Had a look at the Go pro's and they are pretty smchicko, but a bit exxy and maybe a awkward shape for amateur filming? Anyone used the Oregon Scientifics ATC3's?

Just shared the purchase of the GoPro HD - good pics on the first run. Will try on board too.

For helmet cam video: You need either a wide angle lens or high frame rate so you can get good slower motion shots. The ATC3 won't fit the bill for a helmet cam, it'll look too jerky.

Won't be as critical if you're just shooting stills.

On the other hand, a wide angle lens will make things look further away and smaller - that 10ft monster wave may only look like 4ft!!!

The oregans are not wide view and therefore you see every single shake. From what I have seen recommend the Gopro for sure.

The standard def is still good value for money if the HD is a bit XXy for you.

Here is a sample of the standard def footage from youtube. Bear in mind compression for youtube.
