Nice picture maybe a tad east coastcentric in its design it suggests that all of Australia's wind is generated over on the east coast. We al know this is not the case

England is one of the few countries that actually do not have one however they host similar celebrations on the Queen's Birthday which is considered by many as their National Day anyway. And England is proposing a dedicated National Day.
Australia is a great country and Australia Day is a celebration of that. It doesn't matter where you're from. The celebrations are for its Citizens, Residents & Guests alike. Enjoy them.
If you have a problem with this then you could always leave and try find a country that doesn't not have a National Day but you would be hard pressed to find one.

WRONG, They dont even celebrate queens birthday, nor is it a public holiday LOL. AUSTRALIA Day is a bunch of bogans drinking VBs abusing OTHER rightful australians!!!
St George's day is probably the closest the English come to a National day.
Personally I like the English low-key attitude to their nation state. No big celebrations, no (or few) big flags flying at schools, in front yards or municipal buildings. Instead, just quietly comfortable in their nationhood.
Guess it's a function of maturity and security. Newer nations have little common history or shared experience to fall back on.
And, besides, the Nation State is still a fairly new invention. For good or ill.

This place is ok
Just had the best ever Australia Day, a small bit player in a Ukulele band playing for Salisbury Australia day celebrations 
knackered now in front of the fan re cooperation...3-4 thou people enjoying it all 
Attended a great community fundraising event for a project I'd designed, ate snags and Paella and drank pinot and beer.
Here's a few things we may take for granted.
