I don't know if this has been posted previously but I just found it whilst looking for something else.
Could be photoshop B/S but either way it gives a perspective of size.

Couldn't find any info re who, what, when or where.....any knowledgeable people out there?

Rupert you need to explore your coastline a bit more, this type of event is fairly common at certain times of the year, at certain places.

...and yes they are huge, more so when they launch their bus like proportions clear of the surface enjoying themselves, as some would say "like being hit by a bus".

We have one here in the Adelaide Hills called the "Chain of Ponds", but our version is much more scales down :)

You can throw up whatever you want but only a parent would understand why this is the best photo in the world

Another one I took, this time was climbing in Bulgaria.

And this one a couple of weeks ago, pointing the camera out of my bedroom window. Was very much a quick shot and then will i quickly fumbled around in my drawer for a wider lens the light had gone.

Great images, but at what point is 'touching-up' a photo too far? I might just be an old traditionalist, but love to see a photo that 'looks' like it come straight off the lens (even though I know that most are digitally enhanced). As soon as the photos are coloured to a point where they look 'cartoony', they lose me.

I guess it all comes down to why you're taking the photo? Are trying to accurately document a moment? Trying to demonstrate your technical aptitude with a camera? Or are you trying to simply convey a feeling, emotion, a mood or a thought etc.

Im not a fan of filters and effects to make up for a poor photo (ie: instagram) but they have their place I guess, much like VFX in films. Granted they often get used for sake of covering up a 5hit film (ie: transformers etc)
