Hitfilm express is Free until early FEB get in now to take advantage.
They are banking on the fact that you will upgrade to ultimate eventually for around $300 - but Hitfilm expresss is pretty darn impressive for zero dollars and no catch. I paid $800 for software with less functionality than this when i was starting out.
I edit on Final Cut X due to the superior organisational and performance features this incredible software delivers on large jobs.
But for anyone doing basic (and even advanced editing and effect work (with trackers too!!)) this is a dream come true!
