I always thought if you drank twelve or fifteen beers in one session or a couple of bottles of spirits in a session then that was taking it a bit much; but thats a fair bit different to four.

If you have been working hard in hot weather all day then you need three beers to cool you down and at least five to feel relaxed. There is a reason why beer is sold in divisions of six, because a hard working man needs six beers at the end of the day. If he can't drink six he may as well not drink anything.

Making the guidelines the same for men and women is not right either.
