So its not the first time this has happened to me
you go through the Buy and Sell or Gumtree
Find something you like to buy ( kiteboard this particular time )
E-mail seller ....... days and no reply
SMS seller ......days and no reply
Phone seller......no reply
Do this idiots actually want to sell product or do they think once its advertised that's all they need to do?
Oh yea ..... Once said item has been sold TAKE IT OFF FOR SALE do not leave it there for months
thats my weekly bitch....I feel a bit better now..![]()
Hmm sell something for sweet fa or enjoy your spare time...
Well, when you want to sell something you should be a bit more professional about it, or pull the ad. It's annoying when people don't even bother to say 'sorry, I forgot the ad was still up', or even 'sorry, I sold the sail to a mate'.
I think a lot of people are really considerate until they sell the item, and then they don't care.
I have the reverse problem, 525 KTM for sale on Gumtree, heaps of calls, even coming to have a look....still waiting
Good luck with your search..
Funny I reply to buyers and they don't reply. Or i get offered swapsies for a bus or some sh#t . The guy on gumtree is making a fortune spent over $300 in past months just keeping a add onboard!

I agree pull the add if it's sold. Dealing with buyers can be a pain in the ass, I recently sold a heap of stuff on gumtree- for every good buyer there are a dozen ** ones, it got to the point that unless someone said "have you still got it, can I come pick it up now" I would bluntly reply. People say they will buy something then never pick it up, mean while in good faith you say to others sorry you are holding it for someone. I've gone out of my way to drop stuff off to places i'd not normally go & for what. If I have a good buyer I always threw in something for them anyway or thank them for being a good buyer. Professionally I put a $ value on my time, below that as I said if you aren't coming round to get it then I won't bother. Strangely this must apply in buyers too, I've sold stuff, person has paid and never picked it up. Then you get the will you swap with x, or can I try it or the constant questions after the sale- it takes people with more patience than me. Society has developed into selfish consumerism, for every seller there are a ** tonne of bad buyers. As a buyer it annoys me more is someone that says something is in particular condition but it isn't. If I feel the price is reasonable I don't haggle, otherwise I offer what I feel is reasonable & leave at that- what point is hassling them? I pay for in cash & when it suits them, if I know something is worth more, that the seller wouldn't know and if they are a reasonable person I give them more than they ask. Ripping someone off as a seller or a buyer is akin to theft & it happens all the time.
I recently found some wheels on ebay that I liked, and the tyres were described as '80% tread'. Looking at the photos, I thought it didn't look like 80% tread, so I sent the guy an email asking if this was the case. 'Yes, they all have at least 80% tread'.
So, I drove the 60km round trip to get these wheels, and when I get there, 2 of them have about 70% tread and the other 2 have about 20% at most. The guy had the nerve to complain that 'ebay is to buy not to look'. It was interesting that he wasn't game to say this to me at the time, but only from the safety of his computer. Well, if he was honest in his ad, I would have bought them, but having to buy another 2 new tyres would have made the deal too expensive.
I have even been ripped off a few times where someone has inserted "bought 'as is' " and "special order" onto a receipt after I have agreed to buy something, yet never mentioned it to me.
Its the sellers like these that sour you on buying some things, even though they are probably in the minority. As for dealing with buyers, if you want to sell something, put up with it, or make your own rules up. I have told people that things are no longer for sale, or already sold if I get the feeling that I am going to get the run around.
Quite a few of web enquiries I've made seemed to have been ignored - until I checked the spam folder... Gmail thought it was junk :o
Sorry Fingerbone I have been busy
Yes the size 26 rubber suit and gymp mask is still for sale.
I revised the ad, as I did manage to get the stains off eventually.
I've sold a few things on gumtree
i get a lot of lowball offers, some scam offers, that i don't reply to
its refreshing to get a genuine buyer keen for a purchase.
Well it's my trade!
Yes I'm a secondhand dealer so trust me that most people are good! Ha......
No it's true most are, but where you live has a lot to do with it. As iv only just got back into the game it's been a learning curve.
Gumtree is great and 9 out of 10 are good, half the time I pay the asking price because I appreciate doing good business.
In my shop I'm tough on price as I take pride in selling good items which are clean and fair. 'Im not a garage sale' is line I'm yet to use!
Everyday I get nice comments about my shop which is a great lift for me.
EBay takes note of neg comments and will read the emails between the buyer and seller. Just because someone gives a neg response
to a seller does not mean it sticks!
Ebay has to see a case of miss rep. On the goods, so I'm careful in what I write and yes iv given out a few Neg scores! And they did effect the sellers score,
but lucky mine is still 100% and I do look after it by being on time! paying straight away! Etc.
I don't know what EBay will do with Gumtree now they own it!

Firstly I am happy to pay asked price for this item.....I am happy to pay for postage and am happy to give xtra $20 for sellers trouble in posting ( wrapping board etc ) so at the end of the day I would probably pay nearly $100 more than asked price ( mainly because I cant pick it up from seller )
Secondly....Mark I would have bought your old rubber suit but the crouch was way to small for me..![]()
