I’m trying to book flights to the UK and was wondering why there is a $326 difference in the adult fare for the exact same flights if I add children in?

A child fare is more expensive than the adult fare for the same flight?

Same search literally 5 minutes apart, just added the wife & kids in the second search.

It's a Dark Art I reckon....

I'm starting the process shortly to look for fares for a Euro trip next Chrissie with the family - Yes ! I know it's WSing season here in WA. Not many fares up for December and January yet but anyone got the inside info of which sites to use or which airlines offer the best deal or any other info that would help...

I know this is out of context, but I would NOT recommend you post details when you might/are leaving the country. It make's life easier
for the dishonest people out there if you catch my drift.

They could charge less for a kid as they eat less / take up less room etc ....... but if they are charging for pain in the ass value of kids I reckon it could well be an EO breach. Worth giving them a stir up.

Surely a kid takes one seat? What about morbidely obese peeps?????? Had to seat next to the elephant woman, she was taking her seat + 1/2 of mine ............. they had to give her a safety belt extension (no crap) I asked the cabin crew to relocate her in business just to get told that the plane was full!!!! really??? they did not refound half my fare!

There would be a limited number of seats available at the lower price on this flight. You would be best booking the single adult at the lower price and book the wife and ankle bitters on a separate booking, get both reference numbers and contact Qantas to organize seating together.

It appears there is only 1 fare left available at the lower price.

Once you go over the last fare, the price will increase to the next available fare.

As for cookies... yep I know about that (I used to do programming work for a large travel company)

We've booked 2 one ways previously as that worked out cheaper than returns...

Just flew from Brisbane to WA with 2 kids. They were angels compared to some others on the plane. My youngest is only 6mths and oldest is 5yrs. My youngest slept for most of the flight as we had a bassinet seat for him, the stewards loved him, kept checking on him lol. the oldest watched movies the whole time. the only time my youngest was whinging was when he dropped his bottle and couldn't reach it. Other than that he loved the flight.

Not all kids are devils on planes. Funny thing was on the way back my 5yo was complaining about a kid behind her kicking her seat all the time. I told her it was payback for kicking mine all the time in the car lol.

To anyone flying with kids; have them exercise their jaw by chewing/sucking on something during ascent and decent will cure their earaches, which is what kids scream about.
Good luck trying to tell bogan parents off the ground for the first time though.
