Anyone know a ball park figure for fitting A/C to a Hiace where one hasn't been previously installed? Basic system?
Cheers.

If you dont mind geting your hands dirty, you could probably buy the complete system from a wrecked similar model Hiace to yours, it will mean pulling your dashboard apart to install it all though.
But, at least that way - all the ducting, wiring and the associated bits and pieces fit properly and it will look like it was factory original.
Then you only need a tradesman to flush the system out, new filters fitted, the oil changed for fresh stuff and regassed.
The other option is an aftermarket roof mounted unit, even then- you still need the compressor, its mounting bracket and drive and tensioner pulleys.
This one would not involve stripping out the dashboard- and you can probably do most of the install yourself if you wanted to.
No idea what a system like this costs- but there are lots out there on the road so they must be reasonably good.

My aircon had a leak and the gas had gone..... I got quoted $900 for a new compressor....however a search on eBay found me a new compressor and seal kit for $350 from the states....however now I have got use to not having aircon I'm not going to bother.
