That's not Techno, that's a mashup. Of some crappy commercial radio pop songs. My favourite mashup ever:

Techno is a style of electronic music in it's own right like hip-hop, hardcore, chillout, house, trance etc.. techno's pretty boring as far as dance music goes, nothing much really happens. But some people like it. This is techno:

kiteboydave, point taken (shows how little I know about that style of music)...call it what you like, but if that one you posted is techno...I'm still not a big fan of it, even if I don't know exactly what 'it' is...

I'm a shaggy fan, and that mash-up's pretty cool...but I reckon mine has a better clip!

Gotta go with kb dave on this one, spent alot of wasted time in clubs in the 90s and from what know claude von stroke had sum smokin tunes goin.

The first chemical bros album was prob one of the best techno/dace/rave woteva you want to call it musik ever. They had it down pat, pitty they put out a second album (I already had the flack jacket on) cos it was sh!te.

Good old school grunge is my fave, no mixing ect just band singer ect. IMO

kiteboy, you know more about it than me, that was my point. I just had it emailed to me and thought the mixing was clever...personally, I don't like most of the songs in it, although together they don't sound too bad.

Never went through the hip-hop stage, lived through early-80s rap and went straight to glam-metal - def leppard, poison, motley crue, GNR etc...late 80's led me on to AC/DC, Dio, Cinderella, Wasp...by 90's I've gone back a few decades Chisel, Creedence, Meatloaf etc...now it's whatever sounds good...

Must admit some of the hip-hop is pretty cool - fav (& this might show my ignorance) RUN DMC & Aerosmith 'Walk this way' & Beastie Boys. I remember walking around the schoolyard (a few decades ago) saying "dont push me...coz I'm close to the eeeedge...I'm trying not to lose my heeeeead...uh-huh uh-huh! (Funny now as a 36yo baldy saying it to kids!)

There was a program on ABC or SBS about this last week including some of this footage.

Krumping and Clown Dancing. Supposed to be the latest thing.

amazing how even music from as recent as 10 years ago (some of which i didn't even like at the time) sounds more interesting and clever than most of today's tripe

or is that just part of getting old?
