Is there any kind of warranty against that happening?

When I got mine, I drove to nearly every shop in Perth (most were out of stock, or didn't have the outdoor edition) and they were all the same price. Might have to go online.

A mate of mine grabbed a few of the GoPro2's for us in the US earlier this year for the advirtised US price, about $100 cheaper than here. Add another $100 or so for a good SD card. Skatreboard shop in Claremont & kitesurfing shop in Freo are good sources for accessories.

PRA Imaging in Newcastle St have a new stock of GoPros and accessories. I was in there on Friday last week.

I don't think you'll find much discounting going on - they are like iPods - basically a popular product that the manufacturer does not have to discount to sell.

a wild idea, but you could actually buy one from seabreeze (or at least one of their sponsors).
Each one bought this way comes with a warm fuzzy feeling...

Was outside of warranty..... they really should note that you replace the cover every year.... those seals won't last forever.........

Contour that much better? Most people seem to prefer the GoPro.

I do support seabreeze, buy all my second hand gear through here, and also sell on here too. I also buy gear from their sponsors......

But am in budget land at the moment... so if I can get a good deal.... I will try :P

Pretty much same thing happened to mine.

I went so far as to open it right up, very carefully, and even put it in a plastic bag full of new silicon packs to asborb any moisture....

It turned on, but the LCD characters looked affected..... I noticed a small calcium(?) residue on the circuit board, googled about using alcohol, which I then used with cotton buds to wipe it down...... no improvement...... its screwed.........

Just a question to those with wth condensation issues...

These are worth their weight in gold and you can never buy too many of them. They of course won't help with seal leakages but definitely condensation.

There is a tip however and this is somehting that applies to changing Lenses on SLR cameras also....

Try never to remove/open the casing (or remove a lense) in a humid or warm environment then return the device to a cold or colder environment ie water. So in other words with the GoPro you should only open and close the casing in your hotel room/house in the aircon. Dry bathrooms are actually best. Never do it at the beach.

Every now and then, Surfstitch (online) have this store wide sale where they discount everything by around 30% (29% last time in celebration of the olympic medals aussies won). I know they stock Contour cameras also. Worth a look if you are willing to wait.

ok, i have now used both the cameras and find so far the contour a piece off piss to use..... so far. i also like that it does not use a fish eye lens.

also contour has given the longboard room a camera to make our movie yep they are up to help out charity...i like their style

Is there any difference between the surf, outdoor and motorsport other than the attachments? GoPro.

They're about $50 - 60 cheaper if you can get someone who's going through duty free to pick on up for you.

Otherwise a good option is if you're buying new gear anywhere try get a deal, I got $75 off retail just when I was buying some snow clothes. Saves a bit of money left over for an SD card and some accessories
