Most people don't think much of him... aside from that...
(I'm not even a Carlton fan!)

Some Carlton folk, and some commentators (who are Fevola detractors) will state some of the following;
- When Fevola was at Carlton it was Carlton's worst period in history
- When Fevola was at Carlton, the attack was very one dimensional, looking to go through Fevola...

However, the true facts are;
- Carlton went through a bad patch as a result of systematic salary cap manipulation and they were lucky to not have a Premiership stripped from them! This had literally nothing to do with Fevola.
- Fevola had absolute abysmal delivery to him on countless occasions, he frequently lead into clear space leaving his opponent for dead, only to watch the ball sail over his head, or land 2-5 metres short of him, and he's left praying for a good bounce.
- he didn't do himself too many favours over the journey!
- heaps of small AFL forwards would be more than happy to work around Fevola (in his prime) and the crumbs, and create a 3 dimensional forward line.

The comment that grates me the most is;
- When Fevola was at Carlton it was Carlton's worst period in history

Don't get me started about Ross Lyon... Shane Warne is correct, and Saints should have off loaded him anyway. Tight defense and a defensive game style won't win you a Premiership... Saints came close... But look at The Cats (Go Cats!), The Hawks from the 80's, and Lions... Multiple Premierships based on good skills, high tempo footy, and full tilt attack on goals and scoring, with a little bit of defense thrown in! Attacking game styles.

Even though Fev does not play in the AFL anymore.
He has still got it like he showed in the allstar game

When he was 100% fit, he was pretty much unstoppable, like Franklin, or Ablett.

He had some lean periods when he carried injuries.

My brother and I think he should be at Melbourne (or Dogs), on minimum chips (using Fev's words!), providing them with a target, teaching some of the young kids like Jack Watts on the finer points of playing Full Forward and Centre Half, and teaching them how to kick. Coaching staff would just need to hand out an A4 sheet to the young kids, with bullet points on the best bits of Fev, and the worst bits. Any numpty knows to learn from the best bits...

I liked that video which was posted a couple of weeks ago when he was at an awards night and pi55ed as trying to interview other players. Apart from that - got nothing.

Messy...

In 2001, he was involved in an attempted theft of jackets from a drycleaners in North Melbourne; he was fined $8000 by Carlton for the incident.[4] On 8 March 2004, he was involved in an incident at Crown Casino; no charges were laid, but he was suspended by Carlton for a week.[25] In 2006 Fevola assaulted a barman during a tour of Ireland in 2006 with the Australian International Rules team, and was sent back to Australia.[26] In March 2008, Fevola was fined $10,000 by the club and stood down from the leadership group after urinating on a window outside a Melbourne nightclub. After this incident, Carlton did not suspend or delist Fevola, saying that taking such action would not assist Fevola in addressing his problems, but he was put on his final warning.[27]
In September 2009, Fevola was fined $10,000 and banned from appearing on the Grand Final Footy Show after behaving inappropriately at the 2009 Brownlow Medal count. Fevola withdrew from the traditional lap of honour by the Coleman Medallist at the 2009 AFL Grand Final and did not attend Carlton's award night.[28] As a result of the incident, he was traded to the Brisbane Lions, and did not return as a panellist on The Footy Show in 2010.
On 2 March 2010, Lara Bingle started proceedings to sue Fevola for breach of privacy, defamation and misuse of her image for the release of a nude photo in Woman's Day released on 1 March 2010;[29] but on 9 April, Fevola was cleared of the charges against him. In September 2010 it was announced that Queensland police had launched a formal investigation into claims that Fevola had flashed a woman at a Brisbane park during a football clinic, but again there were no charges laid;[30] the Brisbane Lions Football Club also suspended him independently while it conducted its own investigation into the event.[31]
Early on 1 January 2011, New Year's Day, Fevola was arrested in Brisbane on charges of public nuisance and obstructing police. He was released on bail and is scheduled to appear in court on 18 January. The Brisbane Lions Football Club granted him indefinite leave,[32] before terminating his contract after receiving medical advice.[33]
Gambling Issues

In 2010, it became public that Fevola was addicted to gambling, mostly playing poker and punting on horses. He accumulated significant debts from gambling.[34] In a paid interview with the Footy Show in early 2011, Fevola further discussed his addiction, revealing that he spent 65 days in rehabilitation, had lost almost a million dollars gambling, including $365,000 in one day of horse punting, and that his addiction almost drove him to suicide during Christmas 2010.[35]

Not in the same category as Ablett and Franklin and the rest of the superstars, Definitly good but definitly on the next level down to the stars, probably with Richo, Kouta, Sumich and Modra in my rankings level 2 or 3. The big stars just have that little bit extra

Agree. Damn good, but you'd always pick Ablett Snr & Jnr first...

And now the fool has put out a biography that doesn't even go into his 'dealings' with Lara bingle. Not that I'm one for gossip but it annoys me that he has chosen to dodge certain issues. If ya wanna keep secrets them don't try and make money from a book.
