Seems to be a bit of angst around lately,

People seem to flare up over really small stuff and when the do (which seems to be more and more frequent) the flare ups seem to be more agro then they warrant by a significant margin (see the Good, bad, ugly topic!!).
Its coming onto Christmas, a time when the levels of good/love in our lives generally go up however it can also lead to people who may have less of it getting more tightly wound. Combined with the non stop financial pressures that really hit a peak around this time and the increase (already too high ) in drinking levels and end of year rush to get your work squared away it creates a bit of a perfect storm of events/stress/pressure that can lead to you being a dick and making some really bad decisions. The ramifications of which can vary massively. Some of us will be dicks at the office party, others will chose to tell Uncle Gary what you really think of him. Sadly some will chose to drink and drive and they or other people will not see the new year.Others will take their frustrations out on the people they love the most

Maybe its time to take stock a little.

We all . YES ALL!! . Every single one of us has so much to grateful for.We live in a beautiful country.Opportunity is everywhere if we chose to seek it. Compassion ,empathy or a helping hand are never far away if we let it be known we could do with a one (or two).

Hopefully we can all just cruise through this holiday period, not get wound up over dumb stuff or stressed about cash (theres always a low cost option thats just as fun or memorable)and most importantly look after your family and mates!!

Best wishes to you all and try to be an example you can be proud of!!

nah... you still had to buy bicyle...
- best thing for me is kitesurfing, and it's also not for free...
- i also wanted to buy kayak for my kids so we can spend more time together on water, and go fishing, but also not for free...
- also love beach, but have to pay for petrol to get there...
- i also like sex, but have to pay for the internet service...

but i agree there are some great things in life which are available for free... the other things you just have to work for... but if you are healthy and can work, then that's also one of the greatest things... but you also have to work on being healthy so that's not free either...

The Desiderata of Happiness

Go placidly amid the noise and haste and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself to others you may become bitter, for always there will be greater or lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your career however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is, many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself, especially do not feign affection.
Neither be critical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture the strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with the universe, whatever you conceive it to be;
and whatever your labours and aspirations, in the noisy confusions of life, keep peace with your soul.
With all its shams, drudgery and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

If you read that with an eye to backing one out it still makes perfect sense!!

Seriously...If there was one thing you could learn by heart and just before you do something stupid you recite it and then see if you still need do it then the above would lead to a lot less "post moment of rage" door replacements.
