No Panda, I've tried this site before and got a very frosty response. I spose if you have an anti science position then you want to bury your head in the sand about this site.

Science deals with testable predictions, pseudoscience deals with untestable predictions, exaggerated claims and obscures the facts.

Your pseudoscience said sea levels were supposed to be 2m higher by now.
My science said there would be no change given a constant solar output.

So what camps do we have in the end?

A) There is no such thing as global warming.
Aa) It's all a power grab by politicians/the U.N./Socialists
Ab) It's all a money grab by Companies.
Ac) Aa + Ab (perhaps aliens too)

B) There is global warming but it's not human made.
Ba) There is a chance the data is completely wrong, haven't considered "something else we don't know about"
Bb) The data is skewed on purpose
Bc) Science doesn't know what it's talking about.

C) There is global warming but a tax won't stop it.
Ca) They should provide stimulus for eco stuff (what the tax does, $10b)
Cb) Things will just get more expensive and achieve nothing.

D) There is global warming and a carbon tax is a good start
Da) Doesn't do enough (it will rise until 2014(ish))
Db) Seems like a good option.

It's not called Global Warming anymore. It's called Climate Change.

If it was called Global Warming we wouldn't have had the coldest weather in history, it would be warmer, wouldn't it?

It's;

'hey look, I can find a scientist that agrees with my position (even though this scientist is an outlier, and has never published in any reputable journals, and who is in the pocket of big business and believes the Flying Spagetti Monster wouldn't let the atmosphere hurt his favorite creation.'

Ea) There is global warming, it happens all the time. We are currently in an ice age, and it's not too cold, not too hot, it's just right.. Lets do our best to keep it like this

Geological history shows that random events often throw the earths environment temporarily out of whack. It seems highly probable we are one of these random events. When the environment goes out of whack, lots of species suffer/dissapear, we are not immune.

A tax is a good start, limiting our reliance on fossil fuels is a damn good idea. And considering these fossil fuels will run out, it's better to wean ourselves of this addiction before it's forced upon us.

But a Carbon tax will be to no avail if we don't continue, it would be like cutting just one head off Hydra. This is my artistic interpretation of our problems..

I want to do my bit to save fuel and thus reduce my carbon foot print.

I've come to the conclusion that the dust on my car is having a detrimental affect on it's aerodynamic performance.

I believe the government should use some of the tax money to subsidize car washes.

Where's the Kool-Aid again, the effect is wearing off.
