Entropy.
Same happened with heavy weather, same contributors doing the same things over and over with no new results. Rinse and repeat leading to all manner of decline and eventual system wide shut down. When there is little to no new input, nothing new said, nothing new done, there is just the monotonous drone of decay.
And here we are like tears in the rain, time to die.
Paraphrase from Blade Runner, seems apt.
At what point do we call this forum dead?
When Carantoc has won.
Then again, has seabreeze silently gained a rudimentary spell checker and new emojis ?? ?
Is a new dawn upon us ?
Edit: ah no, it seems new emojis are a stretch too far. You can type them, but they are censored from appearing as anything other than : ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Nearly dead as there are too many robots NOW on here.
Been 'turned' perhaps due to the last 5 years who knows.
Discuss!.
Be careful there MSN.
A few years ago some forumers declared bitcoin would soon be dead. How foolish do they look now, eh ?

Years ago I used to frequent a 'forum' called aus.cars. It was on Usenet/Aarnet before the internet was everywhere. A text based news service but essentially a forum.
It was a great group. A lot of people would share ideas and talk about their cars and everyone pretty much knew everyone else from the conversations. It was rare that there would be arguments or anger. I guess it helped that access to it was sort of limited to university staff and students and other similarly controlled places.
I moved on to a different job and then a few years later I got access to aus.cars again. It had turned into an awful place with some idiot that called himself 'Noddy' essentially running the thing and appointing himself in charge. He was an idiot and brought out the worst in people and would shut down new topics he didn't think were interesting, and then argue in every other topic. Unsurprisingly he discouraged new people from participating and posts dropped a lot.
Some people complain about moderation, but in reality it is needed when you have people that can't play well in public.

Myusername is the Noddy on this forum.
Noddy - a wooden and child like figure who lives in a fantasy land. Sounds much more like myscreenname than myusername.
But I don't think he is the only character here.
Carantoc is perhaps Big Ears - a wise spirit who guides Noddy, and according to folklore completes necessary household chores for the forum when no-one is looking, although is characteristically mischievous and may prank lazy people.
cammd is perhaps Mr Plod. A policeman who doesn't like Noddy for no apparent reason.
remery would be the clockwork mouse. A pointless toy who often stops working and needs winding up to keep the residents amused.
fangman - Elephant. Clockwork mouse's buddy.
FormulaNova - Miss Pink Cat. Prim, proper and fussy, hates foolishness. Doesn't really fit in.
Pcdefender - The Skittles (all of them) - idiots who love to be knocked down. Always standing in the road, getting knocked over by Noddy's car, then getting up and doing it all over again.
decrepit - Little Ears. Big Ears brother, kinda smart like Big Ears, just with smaller ears.
Flying Dutchy - Mr Golly. Just a normal guy going about his business, but persecuted and eventually banished from Toyland by the woke brigade.
Mark_Oz - Stinky. A tramp who has never washed.
bjw - Mr Wobblyman. Fat and always falling over.
philn - Sammy Sailor. A visitor from far away lands.
elmo - Clockwork Clown. Stands on his hands and has no toes.

Apologies myusername, your not Noddy, myscreenname is the Noddy.
Thankyou BigEars for drawing that error to my attention.
Pfffft, Cammd you are NQR. The sooner you know the more you can do.

At what point do we call this forum dead?
Hard to say exactly, sometime in 2016. It was then dug up and cremated sometime during the big sneeze.
Discussion turned to only frothers. PeterMac, PC defender wth his relentless rubbish about flat earths, chemtrails, 911 etc etc.
Adrianoguacamoleholymoly whatever and his relentless nitpickery.
Enter the big sneeze and the relentless antivax crap and a shift to only hard right fktardery. everyone left coz this sh!t was tolerated here.
This forum may die, along with some of its wonderful contributors
Some of us will live on for eternity

Laurie should consider reaching out to BJW and accepting his offer to volunteer with site updates. Imagine how much better Seabreeze could become with a few AI bots modeled after some of our regular members.
For example:
- A Carontoc bot could auto-reply to threads with heartwarming, witty, and delightfully pedantic anecdotes.
- An FN-inspired bot could occasionally drop a bland post, subtly boosting everyone else's self-esteem by reminding them that, no matter what, someone out there is having a worse day.
- And, of course, a PCDefender bot could randomly post some rage bait rubbish - guaranteed to trigger Remery.
The possibilities are endless!

Unlike Cracasac, Remery is rarely triggered.

The opposite i tend to think is true.
People have for the most part turned off the mainstream media, why because they can see thru the obvious censorship regarding the 'safe and effective' clot shots etc.
Lots come on here for general discussion not censorship discussion aka the mainstream media spin on things.
Whilst here they might check out the other forums.
Once bitten twice shy.
Hopefully we can get back to general discussion not censorship discussion.
