Anyone on here tried it . Currently on "Special" at Woolworths for $40 a 700 ml bottle !!!!
I thought it was the tax on alcohol that made spirits expensive
A friend of mine gave it a try , the poor thing bought a full bottle. In her own words " That stuff tastes disgusting ! "
I might give it a miss ![]()
Why on earth would anybody want to try alcohol-free gin?
There are plenty of utterly disgusting boutique gins (rhubarb anyone?) that will at least have the saving grace of getting you pissed.
If I want a refreshing G&T without alcohol, I double up on the lemon juice and leave out the Gordons.

Thanks for the heads up on the rhubarb gin. I'll stick to eating the stalks raw dipped in sugar ![]()

My wife tried the Gordon's A/F Gin... terrible - and still $40 a bottle. It sat in the cupboard for 6 months and then went down the sink! ![]()
If you're a fan of gin but looking to cut back on your alcohol intake, paying $40 for an alcohol-free version might seem steep. However, there are a few compelling reasons why you might want to consider splurging on a bottle of alcohol-free gin.
First and foremost, alcohol-free gin can provide all of the flavor and aromatic complexity of traditional gin without the negative effects of alcohol. This means you can enjoy the taste of your favorite gin cocktails without worrying about feeling hungover or impaired the next day. This is particularly appealing for those who are designated drivers, trying to stay sober for health or personal reasons, or simply looking to moderate their alcohol consumption.
In addition to being a healthier alternative to traditional gin, alcohol-free gin is also a more versatile option for mixing drinks. Because it doesn't contain alcohol, it can be used in a wider range of cocktails and mixed drinks, including those that would normally be ruined by the addition of alcohol (such as fruit smoothies or mocktails). This means you can enjoy a wider variety of drinks without worrying about the negative consequences of alcohol.
Finally, alcohol-free gin can be a great option for those who are sensitive to alcohol or have allergies to certain ingredients found in traditional gin. Many alcohol-free gins are made with all-natural ingredients and are free from common allergens like gluten or artificial sweeteners, making them a safer and more enjoyable choice for those with dietary restrictions.
Overall, while $40 might seem like a lot to spend on a bottle of alcohol-free gin, it can be a worthwhile investment for those who are looking to cut back on their alcohol intake, enjoy a wider variety of cocktails, or avoid the negative effects of alcohol. Whether you're a designated driver, trying to stay sober for health reasons, or simply looking to moderate your alcohol consumption, alcohol-free gin can be a delicious and convenient alternative to traditional gin.

Yeah, the manufacturers make it sound pretty but my friend and GPA's missus have tried it and wouldn't touch the stuff again
. Oldtelefart's idea of smashing the tonic with extra lemon is worth a shot if you're out somewhere and need a drink in yer hand.
Thanks for all the input boys ![]()

I wouldn't by it on mere principle. Surely, $40 for 700ml of anything non-alcoholic is really taking the piss?

That was the price on special mate (20% off) . So yeah , it's normally $50 and the high price for a non alcoholic drink was also noted in my initial post. It's a rip off , as you say .

Eau De Carantoc currently retails at $700 for 40ml.
Non-alcoholic but sure does have a similar affect on the ladies.
