Anyone had one or knows anything about them as i had a look at one yesterdaynice bike in really good nick for about $2000.
I'm not into the new plastic bikes they gotta be pre 1980.
Just wanting to know what problems they had etc.

Stribo, I've got a 1976 CB400/4.
I used to ride it daily, but gave it to my brother-in-law when I went overseas.
He restored it and painted flames on the tank, sweet.

Just google it, there is plenty of clubs and information on the 'net as they are collectors items

Old honda fours are reliable and sound awesome with nice 4-1 pipes

Waaaayyyyy back in '68-'69 I was a mechanic at the Darwin Honda dealership where we used to service all the cop bikes, the majority of them where CB450's (twins) as well for some of the local bikies it was THE bike to ride, till late'69 the awesome (for it's day) CB750 four came out

The motor was basically bomb proof and very reliable except for a few obvious gliches with the CV carbs and ign points and cam chain adj. but nothing serious. But as with all the early Jap bikes high speed handling was pretty scary with at least 2 fatalities when I was there.

Also we had to service all the WRAAF's WRAN's and Nurses stepthrus mostly C50's etc Aaaaaaah dem were d days
what was it they used to sayabout girls bicycle seats

Stribo,
Mine's a supersport, forgot to mention that.
If you want big dollars, say around $4000.
The bike will have to be MINT.
Look for original exhaust system, the original headers on a 400/4 are said to be the the most beautifully constructed headers ever installed on a jap bike as original equipment.
Check for tool kit, user manual, original seat, handlebars, indicators, orinal paint scheme, little details like the fuel tank stickers add a lot a value at the top end of the collectors market.

But what ever you do, don't keep it under covers. Ride the bloody thing

Check out this mint example!!!

Motorcycling isn't supposed to be a fitness thing
