Hey guys

Has anyone had positive experiences with a 12m Naish Pivot 2019 - 2021? I found my 2017 model had good low end but got easily overpowered and had overly high lateral pull which made it difficult to jump.

I want to give them another chance, hoping that they may have improved the 12m in the later years. I have no issues with the pivots 10m and less, they have been my kite of choice for the last few years.

cheers
John

Hi Mate,

the new 20/21 Pivot has a really high top end,
Check out the 2020 kite mag ultimate test for all the pivots characteristics.

Another option might be to go for an 11 m instead. I used to have the 2016 11 m Pivot based on that a lot of people said that the 12 was really grunty and a bit slow. The 11 was much livelier. I used it only on surfboards so I can't comment on jumping.

Agree the 11 is a nicer kite than the 12

I already have the 10m and 8m 2020 models, I guess I'll have to demo the 12m and see what it's like

I have 2019 12m and 8,10 from 2020. The 12m is good especially on twintip. It's fast turning for a 12m and has a decent top end ( although bar pressure increases ). You cannot hold on to it in crazy winds for air style but within a 12m range it's perfect.

PS the jumping on it is very good.

The 2017 Naish kites were the first year with the quad tex material and i don't think they had quite refined the designs well yet to accommodate the increased stiffness. I Ride the slash but found the same thing in 2017, the top end is now superb across all sizes and inspect the Pivot will be similarly improved. My 12m Slash is comfortable from 12 knots to 20knots

The 9m 2021 Slash is by far and away the best kite I have ever owned
