Leg Ropes?
New to kite boarding and first time poster, I am still learning and sometimes when my kite runs astray i look back and my board has drifted away... I have a few spare leg ropes i was thinking of using it so it doesn't drift away. I did notice no one else was using them. Are there safety issue with using them or is it something else?

Thanks,

Kite Board Leash
So, went out today and as I'm only beginning, I really struggled tring to get up on the baord, and than i spent most of my time trying to get my board back. Is a kiteboard leash a good idea and if so is there a particular kind I should get? i.e retractabe, stretch.. etc. Any tips or info would be apreciated,

Cheers,

Sharks and Leashes
Hi ,

First of all this is a debate I'm not a for or against ,I would just like some feedback.

With the increase of sharks I think we may have to start thinking if leashes should be worn.

As you know when you body drag you are a big lure for sharks. I know shark attacks are rare but they are increasing.

I think out of the two,a shark attack or board strike, a shark attack is much worse.

leg rope for a surfboard?
Hi Guys,
I wondering how you experts deal with attaching a leg rope for a surfboard? I have converted from the twinnies to the surfboard and am now keen to get out in the surf - but I dont like swimming all that much so have been told a legrope is the way to go ( seems to be a bit against the ' dont use a board leash' crowd) - So I guess you attach the board leash and then launch the kite? Is prob one of the most daft questions but I generally have to Kite on my own because there is no one else around !! - hard to learn from others when there aint any!!
To launch the kite, walk to the waters edge and then try to attach the leg rope?? I usually self launch off the bull bar of the 4by and then walk to the waters edge wher I have previously placed the board - and if the launch doesnt go to plan (rarely) at least I havent got a board to deal with at the same time - any advice is most welcome !

board leash really that bad?
He guys.

I was out kiting today and almost lost my board upwind of me. Thank god I could get it back but it was a close call. Bodydragging upwind is not as easy in 22 knot winds as I thought.

I am getting very mixed opinions from people. some say it's great for when u are a beginner because you won;t be doing any big jumps yet so it wont whip back at ya.

Some people say not to get it at all cause it can whip at ya no matter what.

Any suggestions anyone?
