Hi Crew,
Jason has his Panasonic HVX 200 for sale - its the same as my "pro" camera.
For those of you who have been watching my video series you will know how highly i rate this camera.
Records to P2 cards OR SD DV to the mini DV tape deck - so you have long form recording options.
With the p2 cards - as there are no moving parts the camera can last virtually for ever - with the DV deck - power consumption is a little higher
720p overcrank at 60 fps for true slow motion - with motion blur control via shutter speed control - VERY handy for shooting for twixtor slowdown in post
Ability to set camera at frame rates from 2 fps to 60 fps (Varicam ability) for awesome over and undercrank control
1080p Hd at normal frame rates
Full shutter control - get correct fps x 2 = correct shutter speed relative to motion blur - this is where DSLRs fall over as you have to shoot at high shutter speeds or at f 10 + OR use a vari nd with mattebox to control your light
Full Manual focus
Full iris (aperture) control
Optical image stabilisation - and none of that jello vision / moire that DSLRs will give you
2 x XLR inputs for easy hi quality sound gathering - with onboard level control. Great if you want to mic 2 sound sources - eg an interview
Records to the awesome DVCPROHD , DVCPRO codec (relatively uncompressed codec that edits like butter (as easily and smoothly as SD DV) on the timeline - even on older computers - most HD codecs areMPg2, MPg4 and are a pain in the ass to edit)
Its effectively a video camera that behaves like a film camera
It has had bugger all use - Jason thought he would use it but guess what ? - He's usually the star and not the shooter.
here is an example of the smooth punchy look that the camera delivers -
I still use my HVX professionally and will for many years to come
I am selling this camera for Jason - Its a bargain at $1 700 if you are keen please send me a PM.
If you are a keen videographer / editor looking for great color , sound and smooth motion then this is a great opportunity to get some great technology.
These are the same cameras that the New York film school teach their students on
The price includes 2 x 16 GB P2 cards (worth $400 each new - will last forever )
1 x Customised Pelican Case (with JP and Oxbow stickers)
3x Batteries
(All up new price would be around $5000)
