Windsurfing Formula vs Ordinary
In the day like today I wish to have 10 m2 sail ( 10-15 knots max, but stable) . But my JP 91 L hardly could support 7.5m2. Just not enough to get planing comfortably.
But on everyday sailing what could be advantage to have Formula gear?
How they can perform when wind is 25knot and above?
How it compare to ordinary ( small ) board and sail?
I never saw on my spot (Shaerwater, GC, QLD) professional Formula rider, so I wonder how do they perform against standard windsurfer, handle 20 knt++ , and chop.

Escape the rain... The NSW Formula State Championships are at Ramsgate, Botany Bay this weekend (Dec 4,5).
Last years Champion Sean O'Brien will be back for his first Formula event this season, will he be able to defend his title?
Last years runner up Sam Parker will be trying to go one better this time and expectations are high.
Current form sailors, Mike Nelson, Byron McIllveen, Rick Murray, Remi Dunoyer and Brett Morris will also be looking to make their mark this weekend.

The FE+ fleet is also expected to be a tight battle between Barry Fawkes (reigning champ), Tim Ford (NSW Series leader), Mick Saunders (winner of the last event) and James Farley (showing that strength and consistency gets you to the front).

The forecast is changing by the day so who knows what Saturday and Sunday will bring. One thing for certain is that racing will be close, exciting and everything is up for grabs. Once racing starts all thoughts of rain will be gone - you will not even notice it :-).
