The best ever SUP event in Australia? The NSW State titles

Conditions you'd only dream of for an event...
With every entry filled in the NSW state SUP titles, the conditions absolutely turned it on for everyone in the gorgeous Port Stephens, NSW.

Justin Holland from Kingscliffe, NSW won the mens event over Beau Nixon. And Jenny Ryan surfed a smidge better than Terrene Black in the final to take the girls win.

Perhaps the most hotly contested event was the 'State VS State' comp run mid week. The QLD'ers put up a real good fight to match the surfing prowess of the NSW guys. But in the end it wasn't enough (some would say, not even close!) with the top four surfers all coming from NSW.

As for the main event, run by the Shoal Bay resort and Spa it had a certain class about it, many have said it was the best they've ever been to thanks to the organisation and conditions. The overwhelming response from every competitor was astounding, it's not often you can't find a single complaint in the seabreeze.com.au forums! Don't take our word for it though, have a read through the thread here, but here's just one example of a stoked paddler:

"It's the best event I have been to and it was great to catch up with crew from all over the state (and the QLD dudes) who you only get to see a couple of times a year. SUP is one friendly sport with (in NSW at least) none of the BS politics that plagues some sports."

Good to hear from a SUP event! Will this set a new benchmark for events in Australia? Lets hope so!
