SUP Australia is pleased to confirm that the remainder events for the 2011/12 competition season with  $1,000 first prize cash money for the winner of the Open Mens 14ft and under downwind event for the QLD and NSW state titles held at Brisbane and Central Coast respectively. 

This prize money is kindly sponsored by ASI (academy of Surfing Instructors) the world leader in Stand Up Paddle training and accreditation.  It coincides with the release of ASI’s Downwind Instructors course. It’s been tumultuous time getting the new association of the ground with some very vocal adversaries.  The new committee decided to review the SUPA events and this involved a halt of the Victorian state titles. 

The overwhelming results of the research was the need and support for a dedicated SUP association solely representing the interests of SUP enthusiasts and competitors.

SUPA has set in place strong foundations with the new committee elected, insurance policies in place for events, clubs and members personal accident insurance.  Planning is now underway for the next season and the international event titles.
