The NSW state championships for the International 505 class were hosted at the Royal Motor Yacht Club, Toronto Lake Macquarie. With the 5oh World Champs' on Hamilton Island March 20 to April 1, the NSW titles were a chance to get some good racing for the Australian Fleet prior to the Worlds. So a plan was hatched to bring as many boats together as possible to provide a form guide and it all looked good until the rain came.
