Bellerive Yacht Club?s distance pennant race - Strong north to north-westerley winds that at times gusted to gale force gave yachtsmen a tough sail on Saturday, dismasting one boat and damaging several others. Sailing a 26 nautical mile course from off Bellerive Bluff down the Derwent to Black Jack Rocks in Storm Bay and return for the larger yachts and river courses for smaller boats, nine yachts pulled out with damage.
