The Powerboat-World team heads north (Thursday, August 27) for the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and the 2009 Brisbane Boat Show.

More than 115 exhibitors will be displaying their goods and services at the four-day exhibition.

The show will open 10am to 9pm Thursday and Friday, 10am to 8pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday.

Organiser, Marine Queensland has put plenty of work into the show and there are attractions aimed at appealing to all family members.

A certain highlight will be the appearance of Daniel Watkins, a Gold Coaster recognised as Australia's top professional wakeboarder. He'll be demonstrating the skills that have taken him to the top on a specially constructed 70.0-metre indoor water circuit, the largest indoor rail of its kind ever assembled for an Australian boat show.

Daniel's brother Mick Watkins, who will act as commentator for the champion, said Daniel was elated to be 'coming home' for the show. 'He's coming all the way from his home in Orlando, Florida, he's fresh from the US Pro Tour and is actually missing the World Titles to enable him to appear at the Brisbane show,' Mick explained.

Marine Queensland's event manager, Jason Plant, said it was an outstanding achievement to have Daniel aboard.

'As far as Aussie wakeboarders are concerned, they don't come more impressive than Daniel Watkins,' he said.

In a 12-year career, Daniel Watkins resume' includes three Australian championships, an Australian Pro Tour championship, two World Series championships and a World Cup championship.

Another attraction destined to attract plenty of interest at the show will be that of celebrity television chef Bart Beek. He's set to reveal some of his best kept secrets, with live and interactive cooking demonstrations.

As chef on the popular Channel 10 program, Escape with ET, Bart will also offer tips on preparing gourmet meals while on board a boat. 'Just because you're out enjoying the waterways does not mean you have to go without restaurant-quality food,' he declares.

In addition to these attractions, show visitors will be on hand to inspect the latest and greatest in trailer boats, fishing tackle, marine engines, electronics and associated boating equipment.

Not only that, the Brisbane Boat Show will prove to be the place to 'do a deal'.

It's an event not to be missed.

Admission charges are $16 (single adult), $11 (concession) and $24 (two-day adult pass).

Children under 15-years accompanied by an adult admitted free.
