The Australian boating industry will enter a new phase in February when Maritimo CEO Bill Barry-Cotter unveils his first Mustang. Barry-Cotter purchased the assets of the rival Queensland boat builder last May, following the company being placed under administration. The new Mustang range will also be among the first Australian-built boats to be offered with the Volkswagen marine engine being developed jointly with Cummins MerCruiser Diesel. Originally, the first of the planned new Mustang range was to be released in January, but with Barry-Cotter's insistence on 'absolute perfection' the timing has been put back several weeks.
