F-One release their yearly kitesurfing movie - Antandroy
Shot in Madagascar, the latest offering from F-One is yet another incredible kitesurfing movie released by the company. Antandroy tells the story of the F-One team and their travels earlier this year, as well as the lifestyle these guys share together. It's a great 'sit down' movie, even your wife might sit through it!
"Before leaving, Madagascar was just a wave and some wind. But once in Lavanono, there is much more than that, we discovered an extraordinary people: the Antandroy, the people of the thorns. We shared our two worlds: we surfed on extreme and beautiful spots, and tried to introduce them to our passion; on the other hand, they opened the doors of their village, their customs, their way of life. Nobody comes back from Lavanono untouched, inevitably we all leave a small piece of our heart" - The F-One team.
Since 2008, F-One have been releasing a yearly movie to showcase their riders and products. What sets their stuff apart from the rest is their highly produced feel and extremely polished movies that wouldn't raise an eyebrow in the classiest of cinemas. And the best news? It's all free, properly free; not the kind of "Oh, you can view it on our website, but not anywhere else" free, you can actually download it, share it, burn it to a DVD and play it on your telly instead of watching Deal or No Deal. That kind of generosity is rare these days, so thanks F-One!
The first release that really put F-One on the map was Addikt - later followed up by Addikt II, which had the sole purpose of broadcasting how good the new Bandit kites and bamboo lined surfboards were. Mitu Montiero starred the leading role in both movies with his strapless surfboard tricks - arguably spawning the recent craze of strapless, flat water freestyle on a surfboard.
Their two latest movies, "Manera - Waterman experience" and "Antandroy" are the follow on films, and once again star F-Ones main kitesurfer, Mitu Montiero. The difference between these latest two offerings is the they are filmed on Red One cameras, which give the producers the option for super slow motion footage, and best of all - crisp high definition quality.
Have a look at the movie below, or better yet - download it from F-Ones website, burn it to DVD and watch it on the big screen with a bowl of popcorn and a beer. Yep, it's that good...
