Learnt to windsurf in shoalwater and safety bays in 1984. Progressed to wave sailing at Gnarloo at my peak (1990s) Have not made it back up there for 10 years now but try to emulate it on any break I can find closer to home. In the bad summer season 7 years ago, went to the "dark side" and learnt to kite. Got seriously trashed in those early lessons (that was the fun bit). Consolidating now (a bit boring) but using kiting to extend the season. Built my first kite foil 2yrs ago, now a foiler.
