Woodman point speed trails $4000 first prize.

Here is a blast from the past when 25 knots was considered speed windy. Woodman point held speed events and $4000 was the first prize. Not bad in 1986 dollars.

WA Speed Records?
I have not researched this thoroughly, but I suspect that last Sunday - "Speed Sunday at PB City" Team SRM Captain Pete Dans may have broken the WA record for the following BIG categories;

- 500 metres (38.50 knots vs Slowboat with a 37.8 Melville Beach on 21-7-07)

- 5 x 10 ave. (39.69 vs Slowboat with 39.54 at Pt Walter 30-7-07)

- Nautical Mile (35.20 vs Slowboat with 34.3 at Hardies 8-12-07)

Unless someone can find some data to prove otherwise this warrants a HUGE congratulations to PD who has added some new vigour to WA speedsailing with a massive day out at Hardies Run, and three WA records in one session!!

This should also prove some serious motivation to Slowboat to regain his title as WA's fastest in home waters.

The race is now seriously on for the first 40 knot 500 in WA- bring it on!

PS; Yoyo, how about a WA Speed Table for the 500 and/or 5 x 10?
