With the increase of kiting popularity and the conflict with between beach goers and pretty much everyone else i have decided to send a partition (not really) to the Victorian Government. Skate parks have been provided all over the world to keep skaters and the public safe from each other so it only makes sense that we (kiteboarders) be provided with the appropriate facilities to ensure our safety and the public also.
What we need -
- manmade shallow sea floors and artificial reefs to be placed 200m minimum off port phillip bay coastline in designated areas say brighton, st kilda, altona for example.
Ok so ill go to the port pillip bay town/marine planning and request the following designs:
- all the sea floor that we dredged from the channel can be used to implement a shallow 500mx500m sea floor surrounded by rock/concrete/tyres breakwater walls along the perimiter to cover all wind/swell directions.
- outside the breakwater say 100m off and artificail surf reef or 3 are to be implementd (see below)
Optional -
- ferry service
- landing and rigging sea platform
-
cafe i mean pub with beer garden overlooking action
- free parking
Further input would be appreciated.
Regards,
The Dong
