In the recent competition, I rode my ECS log, a great board. But as everyone well knows logs are obviously not aimed at anything other than nose riding. Yes I had a few fives and tens in my heats but that wasn't enough to win it.

As our regulations with surfing Tasmania say that our mals must be at least 9'1 for competitions, I cannot ride one of ECS's comp mals, a shame really. HAs anyone had any experience on their 'Modern' shape? Any comments? http://www.ecsboards.com.au/modern1 By looking at the description can anyone give me and idea of the board?

An alternative is to get one of my other sponsors to get me a Mctav or something along those lines, issue is that may be very difficult to afford and I need to buy it before the end of this month. Any recommendations on a performance model?
