55 deg heavy weed fin
OK keef, took up your idea of a stainless leading edge for our abrasive weed spots.
Here's a pic of it this morning.

17cm deep, 350cm long.
After my previous stainless leading edges had problems with the glass fracturing off at the interface, I've ground a ledge into the stainless so the cloth is about .5mm thick at the junction, instead of being a fade out into nothing. Hopefully that will wear better.

Got 3 layers of carbon and a sacrificial layer of glass on this side today. Next is to remove some timber from the leading edge under the stainless and from the trailing edge so I can replace with a bead of micro fibres.

I'm also trying a different foil, this is an even curve over the first 70%, giving a sharper leading edge. According to Yoyo this should work OK with 55deg of rake, we shall see.

Hopefully this will make it worth while going into that dead flat water with very heavy weed growing right up to the surface. The 20cm 45deg went in there, but I could feel the weed dragging on the fin.
