I'm a social drinker. Don't get out that much and don't drink very often. But when I do, I feel this compulsion to open up to everyone. You know - stuff that is considered way too soft to ever be socially acceptable in normal Australian culture. I let people I care about know how much I care about them, honestly express stuff that bugs me including work stuff, tell people I admire or think are awesome that I admire them and think they're awesome, post stupid things on SB etc

I'm probably a heart on sleeve/life's too short kinda chick at the best of times and I really value honesty and openness. But is it generally regarded as craziness these days? I don't say stuff unless I am sincere and I mean it, but sometimes it feels like all people really want to hear about is the weather. Do I need to surrender my phone to a designated driver every time I drink? Should I start accessorising with a gag?
I never say anything I think might hurt someone - I don't mean openness with no accountability. Or crazy stalking over-familiarity with people you hardly know. I just mean talking about stuff that means something.
Sorry to you guys for me writing this, but at least I wasn't telling someone else how awesome I think they are while I was busy. Thank F this forum is for shooting the breeze...
