Practicing what you preach
Anyone here that has seen any of my posts would by now know I am an advocate of dodging stock boards and taking the local custom option.

A while back I borrowed a mate of mine who is a shaper personal SUP surf board. The board went amazingly and I loved it so much that I bought it off him. The problem was at 88kgs and the board at 105 liters 8'6 x 28 x 4 it was just too small to paddle. I loved it on a wave, hated it paddling back out. Surfing in a crowd was stressful as I was forever worried about falling off.

The Solution:

As I have said many times the whole benefit of custom boards is that you change single factors. I loved this too small board so much I am getting my shaper to make me another one exactly the same. We sat down today pulled up the CNC file for the 8'6 and scaled it up to 8'11 x 29 x 4 1/4. 125 litres. Everything else is the same, Bamboo veneer top and bottom concave, vee with double concave in the panels. Flyer round tail.

Custom design, sandwich construction, input to the weights etc etc all for the same price as a stocky.

Great value if you ask me.
