I just wondered if anyone had any advice on this. My dog attacked the neighbours cat yesterday (apparently) I did not see or hear a thing but had the neighbour arrive, in great distress , telling me that i was up for the bill. I said "of coarse", went to see the cat (a bit of a mess) and decided that i had to put my old boy down (have had him 10 years) as i could not risk this happenning again (esp with an 18 month old)....pretty tough,but felt i had to!!
Anyway, they tell me the vet bill is for between $5000 and $8000 !!!! Which i think is COMPLETELY INSANE !!!!! If this happenned on common land (in a strata block) ie my dog did not enter someone elses property....am i really liable? ......the cost seems over the top to stitch a cat up.....is there anyone who knows something about this?
