So who has one? I used to have one about 20 years ago for my first trip to Indo. Left it in London as it was too much hassle to cart around.

A while back when Chrispy got that fin chop it got me thinking about getting one. Then there a string of other incidents that made me think about it and I went and tried a few on. Could not decide between the L and XL. So did nothing. Last week I tried another one on. And then this week both Chrispy and LL get towelled up.

Give the recent influx of more close calls (esp at this time of the year) but more so just wanting to protect the nogan from my own board - I want to get one. So if anyone has any advice re the fitting of them it would be much appreciated.

Still can not decide what size I should get. Do you want them a bit loose or super tight? Is the sun visor worth it or a gimmick?

I have been wearing a hat to protect me from the sun the last 3 months and it still annoys me. Its weird having that big brim when you hit the water - its like you do not pierce it properly and the noise can annoy me. Is the Gath going to cause me these problems as well?

For Gold Coast based 'breezers and visitors, we are having a big weekend at Board Culture at Mermaid Beach. Members from Burleigh and Narrowneck clubs have been invited to come along, but don't let that deter you from showing up!

On Saturday 25th Feb from 9am there will be a sausage sizzle put on by Burleigh Longboard Club. This is part of the club's annual fundraiser to promote awareness of its long running Anzac Day contest. You will also be able to buy raffle tickets to win a new board or $500 in cash.

For the kids there will be snakes and crocodiles (no, not Mac) to keep them enthralled courtesy of Wild Rangers wildlife encounters.

And for the surfers, there will be heaps of bargains on new and used surfboards, bodyboards, skateboards, clothing and accessories (and that was the shameless plug part). So come along, grab a coffee or cold drink and a snag and catch up with fellow longboarders/shortboarders. And we will be live streaming some contest that is apparently on at Snapper. - Mark

Beautiful day here in Lennox Head, 2-3ft hardly any wind. Loads of fun out the front this morning, so much so a fello thought he'd show me his new board...

He's over there visiting your fair country (Byron Bay I think).....goes for a casual surf at a beach break & next thing "Wang Bang Thank You Ma'am" 7 stitches in the side of his head !!
I said to him "where's the pic?" because we all know that's the golden rule.....Pics First & first aid Second......but think he may have been keener on finding medical attention than posing for the pics
