Latte's for the yuppies at Gnaraloo??
Hi Peeps,

Spent a few days at Gnaraloo the other day and enjoyed the waves and wind, but WTF is with the beers available at the shop and the happy hour style drinkin' sessions before sunset?

At least you can keep up to date with Facebook and the stock market on your apple mac whilst sipping a friggen Latte in the morning at the shop?

I must be naive as I thought you go to Gnaraloo to escape all the crap and go for a wilderness experience away from the WiFi, internet, email, FB etc etc.

I know you don't have to partake in those things if you don't want to (and I didn't), but for me, the most attractive thing about Gnaraloo (apart from the wave) was the remoteness, the isolation, the lack of services, indeed the nothing! The raw and harsh unspoilt environment.

I liked the fact that you used to need a decent car/4WD to get there, but now the washouts are being repaired, potholes filled, so now you can drive all the way into camp in a Prius, drop in for a latte whilst you peruse the latest stock tips, check in on Facebook to impress all your friends that you are in the desert, and grab a few souveniers for the nephews and nieces before you leave.

As Bob Dylan once sang: For the times they are a changin'

Is it just me? What do you all think???
