First SUP wavesail
I just got hold of a BG Surf 9'6" Sup. I bought it for 3 reasons: -teach the kids and girlfriend to sail - give my abs a chance to resurface after many years hidden - for me to have something to muck around on when it's too light even for kiting on surfboards.
I had 4 wobbly paddles on it last week, and it is exhausting even in 1ft waves.
A bodgey NW swung around to a 10knt NE on the weekend, so I headed to the a north corner lefthander (2-3ft) that is usually way too gusty/shadowy to kite, let alone sail. I put up a 5.5Ezzy and spent the next 2-3 hours full-on loving what feels like a brand new sport.
Having no straps was essential to get the board working effectively.
I can't wait for the next southerly to get out to more locations that have been off the menu so far.
How many people are sailing sups?
