Bridge to Beach Info - Sunday 17 April
Breezers, just spoke to Dean Gardiner this morning about BtoB. The wind is looking good so it is unlikely there will be the same ugly conditions as last year. This year is looking like it will be straight downwind for the last half of the race, but side wind for the start - lucky if you have a rudder!
Entries - early bird registration finishes today - 12 April - so save yourself $20 by entering online at: oceanpaddler.com/
PFDs - they are compulsory. I know we all hate the idea of wearing them - especially in the harbour - but there is no choice. I am going to purchase one this week that allows for a drink bladder. I would of taken a camel back anyway so it is not really the end of the world. If you are thinking of doing the Doctor or the Fenn Cup races you have to wear them so you may as well get a decent one.
See ya Sunday.

The Manly Wharf, Bridge to Beach - April 17th 2011
Balmoral Paddle Surf is proud to sponsor the SUP section of this iconic race.

With over 500 entrants, over 40 SUPS expected and 1000's of spectators you can expect a race like no other.

A few of the crew did this race last year and got hit by a N'easter. This year the race has been put back to April with an earlier start to maximise favorible winds.

The race kicks off at 8am from Blues Point Park.
You will pass underneath the Harbor Bridge with the CBD towering around you.

Expect an atmosphere like no other!

Paddle past the Opera House, Fort Denison, Taronga Zoo and around spectaculer Bradleys Head. Swinging north, the race hugs the shoreline of the beautiful Sydney Harbor National Park before traversing in front of both North and South head to finish in front a huge crowd lining Manly Cove.

Large crowds are expected at the finish at Manly Cove.

Electronic timing so you know how you went.

Early bird entry is $60. PFD and leg rope mandatory.

SUP Prizes
1st Place OPEN - Full Carbon Hydro paddle
1st Place 12'6 - Quickblade FG adjustable paddle

Lookng forward to this one! Should be a great event!
