Lucky people living on the east coast of NSW, we have had the best week of the year so far I reckon with 3 days of pumping swell. Here in Sydney it's been about 2- 3 meters of east/se swell with a 10 sec period - not epic - but one of those swells with tonnes of waves.

The local reefs and points have been smoking at about 4- 5 foot (a few double overhead ones thrown in)

I had a classic at my local this morning - got out at first light - on a very low tide but clean as. The normal suck rock you try and backdoor was coming out of the water so you had to run along the top of the wave to make the take off and not hit it! My eyesight sucks these days (night vision) and I was on a real critical one trying not get smashed when suddenly a loose board is sitting there right in my path! No escape - rocks if I straightened out and no time anyways, so bang went straight over it and got catapulted off my board.

I apologised to the fella and told him to catch me later so I could fix it for him - seemed his leggy had snapped.

Anyway smashed one of my side fins so it looked like a winged keel and put a hole in the bottom of my board but it was too good to go in! Towards the end I stuffed up a take off and did the old jump off and hope for the best - board went straight down into the reef closely followed by me - hit bottom but no injuries - SUP not so lucky taking about 2cm off the nose and ripping my tailpad off. It was still too good to go in though!!!

Got a few more smokers then time to go get the kids to school. Yesterday and Tuesday were cooking as well!!

Anyone else had any good waves! I heard Steve at Merimbula has had it all time!
