We had a suprise sail today. Bugger all wind forcast, then up pops a 20 knot seabeeze. Woo Hoo
Only 3 of us out and I sailed past the biggest stingray I have ever seen in the estuary!!!! He didn't move so I did!!
He was still there next time I did that run, just watching me fly past. And the next two runs, and on the fourth time he waved a wing at me so I waved back! I called him Rodney (not sure if that was his real name but it suited him)
Anyway, he disappeared after that and I was a bit concerned I might run over him. It wouldn't have hurt him I reckon, just made him angry! I was having flashes of what happened to Steve Erwin.
I know a windsurfer who stepped on a stingray launching at Safety Bay. He said was the most painful thing ever. Anyone ever been stung while on their board??
