Your inspiration to start SUP?
4 years ago today I seen the first SUP surfing with my own eyes in Australia. At Currumbin Alley in good waves. I thought 'wow, it's just like that Hawaiian guy on the Swaylocks site'. The surfers were Jamie Mitchell and Mick Dibetta, fresh from Hawaii I guess.
Long story short in March/April that year after being completely blown away and needing to try it I found someone that could make me a custom 10'.
Before that I used to check a surfboard design forum called Swaylocks and this guy called Blane Chambers (Who???) had posted some pics of himself surfing small Waimea with his own version 'Canoe paddle surfing'. I tried to find that original post he put on that site but it had been deleted with a site upgrade. Anyway he re-posted it some time later as it was extremely popular. This was before he started making PSH, still riding a Surftech!
This is a great post and I thought I would share it with you. For aspiring DIY shapers this site has probably lost more info about production, particularly epoxy than most people will ever know.

What inspired you to begin? please limit the crap about the 'core workout'.
